Hi, I’m Tom. I specialize in helping couples get unstuck and build the kind of loving, connected relationship they truly desire. Using Relational Life Therapy (RLT), I guide partners through identifying patterns that keep them stuck, understanding where those defaults come from, and learning the skills needed to thrive together. My approach is active and coaching-oriented—I draw from my own experiences and model the same work I invite clients to do. Alongside couples work, I also support individuals who want to grow in self-awareness, strengthen mindfulness, and pursue meaningful goals. I integrate principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help people develop resilience, clarity, and direction.
I earned my BA in English/Creative Writing from the University of Kansas and my MA in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University. My training in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) has shaped the way I work with both couples and individuals. Whether in the therapy room or in everyday life, I value honesty, curiosity, and courage. I believe real change comes from a willingness to look inward, take responsibility, and practice new ways of relating—to ourselves and to others. When not doing my counseling thing, I’m either spending time with family and friends or getting out and enjoying nature.
