Hi, I’m Hanson. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Avila University. I’ve been working in the counseling field for the past two years, and in that time, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside teens, young adults, individuals, and couples as they navigate some of life’s most meaningful—and sometimes most difficult—questions.
My approach is process-based, insight-oriented, and always client-directed. I work primarily with people ages 13 to 39 who are exploring identity, wrestling with feelings of meaninglessness, navigating the impact of pornography or screen addiction, or seeking to rebuild communication and trust in relationships. I also support clients living with ADHD, working on boundary-setting, or trying to better understand themselves and the patterns that keep showing up in their lives.
Therapy with me is rooted in honesty and authenticity. I bring warmth and compassion into each session, and I aim to create a space where you can be fully yourself—whether that means being messy, curious, overwhelmed, hopeful, or all of the above. I draw from several therapeutic approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, depending on your unique needs.
I became a counselor because of the life-changing impact of my own experience in therapy. That healing space my counselor created for me—I’m now working to offer that same space for others: a place of transformation, deep reflection, and rediscovery.
As a creative person, I love thinking outside the box and seeing things from different perspectives. I tend to take my time to fully understand what’s going on beneath the surface before suggesting change. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is witnessing those sudden insights—that buried treasure of identity finally uncovered—and watching how quickly and deeply they can take root.
Outside the therapy room, I love playing pretend with my kids, spending time outdoors with my family, writing music, and diving into philosophy and psychology.
If you’re feeling stuck, searching, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, I’d be honored to walk that path with you.
